HDHMR stands for High-Density High Moisture Resistance Medium Density Fiberboard. It’s a heavy-duty variant of MDF, engineered to deliver elevated mechanical strength, enhanced water resistance, and exceptional dimensional stability. Through high-pressure pressing of hardwood fibers combined with moisture-resistant resins and additives, HDHMR achieves a much denser and tougher core—making it ideal for areas prone to humidity or frequent use.
Brand: Motherwood, GreenPane
Sizes Available: 2mm, 4mm, 6mm, 8mm, 11mm, 12mm, 17mm, 18mm, 25mm.
Density: Typically 850–900 kg/m³ (notably higher than MDF)
Moisture Resistance: Designed to resist swelling, warping, and delamination in humid or wet conditions.
Termite & Borer Resistance: Naturally less susceptible to pests due to dense, resin-infused structure.
Workability & Surface Finish: Smooth surface and compact core; excellent for CNC routing, painting, and laminating.
Screw/Nail Holding Strength: Stronger grip and better load-bearing performance during fastening due to high density.
Eco-friendliness: Often made using hardwood fibers and recycled wood waste, offering a greener alternative to plywood.
Thickness & Sizes: Common thicknesses range from 3 mm to 25 mm or more, available in standard panel sizes like 8×4 ft and variants like 8×7 ft.
Lifespan: Offers longer service life (10–15 years or more) compared to typical MDF, especially in moisture-prone areas.
